The challenge
Where travel bookings get lost, and how to win them back
Trips are expensive, bought in advance and often paid by someone other than the traveler. Payments built for small, domestic tickets struggle with all three.
Paying like a foreign merchant
- Cross-border card frictionLocal cards charged by a foreign acquirer can face more declines and extra fees for the traveler.
- Tickets above card limitsA family package can exceed a card limit when installments are not offered at checkout.
- Agency payments by handTravel agencies pay by transfer with a reference in the memo, or none at all, and finance matches them manually.
- Slow supplier settlementPaying hotels and local operators by international wire is slow, costly and hard to track.
Paying like a local, with Localpayment
- Local card acceptanceVisa and Mastercard in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, plus American Express, Naranja and Cabal in Argentina and American Express and Diners Club in Colombia.

Industry FAQ
Where is this solution available?
Coverage varies by product, payment method and market. Check Coverage & Network for the current details.
Can I offer installments on travel bookings?
Yes, on cards in Colombia, Mexico and Peru, together with 3D Secure. In other markets, account-to-account rails and virtual accounts are often the better fit for high-value tickets.
Can I authorize a card at booking and charge the final amount later?
Yes. With pre-authorization and capture you place a hold when the trip is booked, capture the final amount when it is confirmed, or cancel the authorization if the booking falls through.
How do travel agencies pay us?
Give each agency, or each booking file, its own virtual account. The agency pays by local transfer from any bank, and we match the payment and notify you by webhook automatically.
Do you accept cards in Brazil?
No. In Brazil, travelers pay with Pix, which is instant and available 24/7, or by bank transfer into a Pix-key virtual account.
How do refunds and chargebacks work?
Card refunds go back to the same card; transfer-based payments are refunded as a payout to the traveler’s account in local currency, with a signed webhook on every status change. Chargebacks on cards follow the schemes’ rules; 3D Secure shifts liability on authenticated transactions, and account-to-account rails such as Pix, PSE and SPEI do not carry chargebacks.
Can I hold balances in several currencies and convert when I choose?
Yes. Collections stay in local currency until you convert them, within local market hours, to USD, EUR or another supported hard currency, locking the rate with a quote token. You can also keep local balances to fund supplier payouts and refunds without converting twice.
How long does it take to go live?
You receive Stage credentials at the start of the partnership, test every flow with no real money and go live in weeks. New markets are added by configuration, with no reintegration.
