How it works
Four steps, one endpoint
- 01
Create the payin
Call POST /api/payin/ and choose the method code — for example 1314 for Pix or 1936 for PSE.
- 02
Show the QR or redirect
Display the QR code or payment instructions, or send the payer to the bank flow for PSE.
- 03
The payer approves
Approval happens in the payer’s own online banking or app. No card data touches your checkout.
- 04
Status by webhook
The final status arrives asynchronously, signed with HMAC-SHA256.

Operations
Asynchronous by design, reconciled like everything else
Local methods confirm when the payer approves, not when you send the request. We track the wait and notify you once, with a signed final status.

Add PSE with the same request
Change the country, currency and paymentMethod.code — the rest of the request stays the same. PSE uses a redirect flow, and the response includes the URL of the payer’s bank portal.

Frequently asked questions
What is an APM?
Alternative payment methods are local bank-native rails — instant bank transfers, QR schemes and account-to-account flows. The payer completes the payment in their own banking or wallet app, without entering card data.
How fast are payments confirmed?
Pix confirms in seconds, 24/7. APMs are asynchronous: the payer approves outside your checkout, and every final status arrives by webhook.
Can I cancel or refund an APM payment?
Yes. Pending payments can be canceled before the payer approves, and completed APM payments can be refunded.
How long is a Debin request valid?
Debin requests in Argentina expire after two days if the payer doesn’t approve them.
Do I need a new integration for each method?
No. Every method uses the same Create Payin endpoint; you change the method code, country and currency.
How does a payer complete an APM payment?
Depending on the method, they are redirected to their bank (PSE), scan a QR code, or approve a request in their banking or Wallet Fri app. The checkout experiences page shows each flow screen by screen.
In which currency is the payment made?
In the local currency of each country — for example BRL for Pix, COP for PSE and CLP for ETPAY — and credited to your Localpayment account in your settlement currency.
