Frequently asked questions
Are all products available in every country?
No. Coverage varies by product, payment method and market.
Which currencies does the coverage page list?
Local currencies, each shown with its flag, plus local payout rails such as Pix, SPEI and COELSA. Canada, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Uruguay are a regulatory presence: talk to sales about your use case there.
What is the difference between licensed and registered?
It reflects each country’s regulation. In some markets we hold a license (for example a Payment Institution in Brazil or a PSP Aggregator in Argentina); in others we are registered with or supervised by the local authority (for example a Money Transmitter with the CNBV in Mexico or an Obligated Entity before the UAF in Chile). Each country page shows the exact entity type and authority.
Can I collect in one country and settle in a hard currency?
Yes. Collections are credited to your Localpayment balance, and you can convert local currency to USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, CHF, USDC or USDT within local market hours, with a rate locked by a quote token.
Do I need a separate integration per country?
No. One REST API covers every market; you change the country code, the currency and the method code. New markets are enabled by configuration, without reintegration.
Where can I accept cards and offer virtual accounts?
Cards in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Peru: Visa and Mastercard in all four, plus American Express and Diners Club in Argentina and Colombia; 3D Secure, installments and subscriptions are available in Colombia, Mexico and Peru. Virtual accounts: CVU in Argentina, accounts with a Pix key that also receive TED in Brazil, TEF-In accounts in Chile, Bre-B keys in Colombia, SINPE IBAN accounts in colones and dollars in Costa Rica, CLABE (and SPID in USD) in Mexico and CCI in soles and dollars in Peru.
Where can I see payment method codes and limits?
In the payment methods directory and on each country page. The full contract for every method is in the API docs at docs.localpayment.com.
