Capabilities

The building blocks of a modern wallet

  • Personal virtual accounts

Give every user a CVU in Argentina, a CLABE in Mexico, a Pix key in Brazil, a CCI in Peru or a Bre-B key in Colombia.

  • Real-time notifications

An HMAC-signed webhook fires when a deposit lands, so you can credit the balance at once.

  • Cash-outs to bank accounts

Send withdrawals to bank accounts in 14 countries over local rails, with alias verification before you send.

  • Wallet payouts

Pay out directly to Yape, SINPE Móvil and CCE wallets, or to wallets reachable by bank transfer.

  • FX and internal transfers

Convert local currency to USD, EUR and other hard currencies at a locked rate, within local market hours, and move funds between your own accounts.

  • Stablecoin funding

Fund your account with USDC or USDT on Ethereum and Tron, and withdraw to allow-listed wallets.

Flows

Top-up, cash-out, treasury

The three flows behind every wallet, on one integration.

Top-ups with virtual accounts, Pix and PSE

Give each user a personal account number to top up by bank transfer, or let them pay in with Pix in Brazil or PSE in Colombia. A signed webhook confirms every deposit so you can credit the balance.

  • Virtual accounts: a personal account number for every user
  • Pix in Brazil
  • PSE in Colombia

For developers

Issue a personal account number

Create a virtual account for each user at sign-up, store the account number in their profile and listen for deposits by webhook. Verify every signature before you credit a balance.

  • Your own externalId on every account; duplicates return HTTP 409
  • Single or batch creation
  • The same endpoint in every virtual-account market

The challenge in Latin America

What slows a wallet down in Latin America

What gets in the way

  • Funding is built bank by bankEvery market means a new banking partner, a new file format and deposits that arrive without a clear owner.
  • Cash-outs are slow or fragmentedUsers expect money in their bank or wallet in seconds; batch files and cut-off times break that promise.
  • USD balances need FX in every currencyHolding user funds in local currency while reporting or settling in dollars multiplies counterparties and spreads.
  • Compliance changes at every borderLicensing, KYC and anti-money-laundering obligations differ by country and keep shifting.

How Localpayment addresses it

  • A personal account number per userIssue a CVU, CLABE, Pix key, CCI, TEF account, Bre-B key or IBAN through one API. Each deposit is attributed to its user and announced by a signed webhook.
  • Payouts to banks and wallets on local railsSend cash-outs to bank accounts in 14 countries and directly to Yape, SINPE Móvil and CCE wallets, with alias verification before the funds leave.
  • Rate lock and multi-currency balancesConvert local balances to USD, EUR and other hard currencies within local market hours, lock the rate with a quote token and move funds between your own accounts.
  • A regulated counterparty in 18 countriesLocalpayment has a licensed, registered or supervised presence in 18 countries. You keep KYC on your users; we operate the rails under local rules.

Money flow

From a top-up to a cash-out, with treasury in between

The three flows behind every wallet — funding, FX and withdrawal — on one integration and one balance.

  1. 1

    UserYour wallet:

    Signs up

You run KYC and call POST /api/virtual-account with a UUID external ID. The user receives a personal CVU, CLABE, Pix key, CCI or TEF account.

  2. 2

    UserLocalpayment:

    Tops up

The user transfers from their own bank to their account number. On Pix, SPEI, COELSA, TEF, CCE and Bre-B the deposit confirms in seconds, 24/7.

  3. 3

    LocalpaymentYour wallet:

    Signed webhook

The deposit arrives signed with HMAC-SHA256 and carries the user’s external ID. Verify the signature, then credit the balance.

  4. 4

    LocalpaymentLocalpayment:

    Local balance → hard currency

Convert within local market hours; lock the rate with a quote token when the amount is known. Move funds between your own accounts by internal transfer.

  5. 5

    Your walletLocalpayment:

    Requests a cash-out

POST /api/payout/ to a bank account or wallet, one by one or in batches. Alias verification checks the destination; double signature approves the release.

  6. 6

    LocalpaymentUser:

    Funds land

SPEI, Pix, COELSA, TEF, CCE and Bre-B pay out in real time; Yape, SINPE Móvil and CCE wallets are credited directly.

  7. 7

    LocalpaymentYour treasury:

    Treasury

Hold multi-currency balances, fund your account with USDC or USDT (Wire In) and withdraw hard currency to your own bank.

Real-time rails confirm in seconds, 24/7. Conversion happens within local market hours; the rate is locked with a quote token. Payouts can require a second signature before release.

Industry FAQ

Where is this solution available?

Coverage varies by product, payment method and market. Check Coverage & Network for the current details.

Which account types can my users get?

It depends on the country: CVU in Argentina, Pix key in Brazil, account numbers in Chile, Bre-B key in Colombia, IBAN in Costa Rica, CLABE in Mexico and CCI in Peru. Some markets also support USD accounts (SPID in Mexico, CCI USD in Peru, IBAN USD in Costa Rica).

How fast are top-ups credited?

On real-time rails, deposits confirm in seconds, 24/7, and we send a signed webhook as soon as the transfer is matched to the user’s account. Verify the HMAC-SHA256 signature before crediting the balance.

Are cash deposits supported?

No. Virtual accounts receive electronic transfers only; cash deposits are not credited.

Can users withdraw to wallets?

Yes. Direct wallet payouts are available to Yape in Bolivia, SINPE Móvil in Costa Rica and CCE wallets in Peru. Wallets can also be credited by bank transfer in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador and Mexico.

How do we protect cash-outs against errors and fraud?

Alias verification checks the destination account before the funds leave. Payouts can require a double signature, access is protected by MFA, RBAC and IP allow-listing, and every status change arrives as a signed webhook.

Which currencies can we convert to?

Local currencies convert to USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, CHF, USDC and USDT, within local market hours, with the rate locked by a quote token.

Can we fund our account with stablecoins?

Yes. Fund your Localpayment account with USDC or USDT on Ethereum or Tron (Wire In), credited about 2–10 minutes after network confirmation, and withdraw to allow-listed wallets (Wire Out). This is account funding for your business, not a crypto on/off ramp for your users.
