The challenge

What holds back game revenue in Latin America

Four problems that studios and publishers run into when players pay with local money.

What gets in the way

  • Players without a cardA large share of players cannot buy with an international card. They want to pay from their bank app or with a QR code, and they leave when they cannot.
  • Small, frequent purchasesGems, passes and skins are low-ticket and repeated. Slow confirmation or card-only checkout kills the impulse to buy.
  • Instant delivery, instant fraudIn-game items are delivered the moment a payment clears. Stolen cards and chargebacks hit the game economy before anyone reviews the order.
  • Paying creators and partnersStudios, content creators and regional partners expect their share in local currency, in a local account, on a schedule.

How Localpayment addresses it

  • Top-ups from the bank appPix QR codes, QR payments, PSE and Bre-B let players pay without a card, and a personal virtual account (CVU, CLABE, Pix key) takes repeat top-ups by transfer.
  • Confirmation in secondsOn real-time rails such as Pix, SPEI, COELSA and Bre-B the bank confirms in seconds, 24/7, and the signed webhook lets you credit the balance while the player is still in the store.
  • Less card exposureAccount-to-account and QR payments are approved by the payer in their bank app, with no card data. For cards, 3D Secure applies in Colombia, Mexico and Peru, BIN allow-listing is available and chargebacks are managed with evidence upload.
  • Creator and partner payoutsSend revenue shares to bank accounts in 14 countries or to wallets where available, in batches with double-signature approval and alias verification before the funds leave.

Money flow

From “buy” to credit in the player’s balance

A typical top-up with a bank-approved method such as Pix. On real-time rails the balance updates in seconds.

  1. 1

    PlayerGame or store:

Picks a pack and a method

Show the methods available in the player’s country, taken from the API.

  2. 2

    Game or storeLocalpayment:

    Creates the pay-in

One call with the pack price and the player’s country.

  3. 3

    LocalpaymentPlayer:

    Returns a QR or redirect

A Pix QR code or Copia e Cola, a bank redirect or a card form, depending on the method.

  4. 4

    PlayerPlayer’s bank:

    Approves in the bank app

The player confirms in their own app. No card data is involved.

  5. 5

    Player’s bankLocalpayment:

    Bank confirms the payment

On real-time rails such as Pix this takes seconds, 24/7.

  6. 6

    LocalpaymentGame or store:

    Webhook: payment approved

Signed with HMAC. Funds are converted and credited to your Localpayment account, usually in USD.

  7. 7

    Game or storePlayer:

    Credits the balance

Add the credit or unlock the item as soon as the approval webhook arrives.

Example flow. Players can also top up by transfer to a personal virtual account; each deposit triggers a webhook and is matched to the right player.

Frequently asked questions

Do you support gambling or betting?

No. This solution is for video games, game credit and in-game items. Gambling and betting are out of scope.

Can players top up without a card?

Yes. With a Pix QR code, a QR payment, PSE or Bre-B, or a transfer to a personal virtual account. Each deposit is matched to the right player automatically.

How are chargebacks handled?

Account-to-account and QR payments are approved by the payer in their bank app, so there is no card data. For cards, 3D Secure applies in Colombia, Mexico and Peru, chargebacks are managed with evidence upload, and BIN allow-listing is available.

How do I pay creators and partners?

With payouts: bank transfers in 14 countries and wallet payouts where available, one by one or in batches from the Business Portal, with double-signature approval.

How fast is a top-up credited?

On real-time rails such as Pix, SPEI, COELSA, TEF, CCE and Bre-B the payment confirms in seconds, 24/7, and the final status reaches you by HMAC-signed webhook. Confirmation is not the same as settlement to your account.

How do I reconcile thousands of small purchases?

Every pay-in carries your own external ID and every status change arrives as a signed webhook. Pull balance, activity and reconciliation data by API, or export reports from the Business Portal.

How fast can we launch in a new country?

You receive Stage (sandbox) credentials at the start of the partnership and go live in weeks. New markets are enabled by configuration, with the same pay-in and payout API.
